Born out of the desire to create a deeper musical connection between audience and artist, song and story, Boxstore Bird is singer/songwriter Drew Peterson's most creative project yet. Boxstore Bird offers a blend of Americana and bluegrass rooted in storytelling and influenced by Townes Van Zandt, John Prine and Cat Stevens.
Peterson’s strength is lyrical wordplay backed by upbeat tunes. Also a solo performer, Peterson has, over time, shown his songwriting depth as the leader of two other successful Minnesota-based Americana groups, Forty Watt Bulb and The Dead Pigeons. Most often accompanied by the amazing multi-instrumentalist Mandy Fassett, the duo performs as Boxstore Bird throughout the Midwest to crowds big and small.
