Turkey River Cabin Concerts presents a special night of music at Deb's Brewtopia! Join us for stories and songs by Drew Peterson and the lovely sounds of Kismet Rendezvous. Music starts at 5!
More info: Kismet Rendezvous is the recent coming together of Lonesome Dan Kase and Dawn Tanner. Bringing a rich and deep background steeped in country blues, folk, ragtime and Americana, their music and original songs reflect those many influences, while carving out their own unique path. With many years of professional performance between them in a variety of venues including festivals, cafes, breweries and house concerts, their live show is polished as well as fun and spontaneous. Telling a story and/or giving a background on the songs before performing them engages the audience and lets them feel very much a part of the show and deepens the experience. Featuring several different instrument combinations including guitar, banjo, ukulele, resonator guitar and harmony vocals, their sound pallate is broad. Dawn has released 3 CDs since 2016 with a variety of excellent side musicians. Lonesome Dan has released 5 solo CDs and 3 CDs with two different bands he has led or co-led. Drew Peterson is an independent Americana singer-songwriter who has captivated fans across the Midwest for over 15 years. Involved in projects with dynamic musicians and as a solo musician, Peterson has built a unique brand that transcends the genre. Since fronting the Minnesota-based group Forty Watt Bulb, Peterson has spawned two other successful Roots projects; the twangy upbeat Dead Pigeons and bluegrass-influenced Boxstore Bird, paired with the incredibly talented multi-instrumental Mandy Fassett. With clever, dry humor and thought-provoking lyrics, Peterson's music is like oil over gravel. Drawing on influences from John Prine, Tom Waits, Cat Stevens, Van Morrison, among others, Peterson offers the world upbeat tunes with a soft-spoken gravitas that belies his years. With a performance style that can transform from intimate listening room to rowdy festivals and bars, Peterson always gives his heart and soul to the stage. And with each new performance, he asks of the world to remember what music is all about; connecting through storytelling.
